As students well know, a good (if dishonest) way to reach an assigned page count for a paper is to fudge the spacing. Some text you want single-spaces, other things you want double-spaced. There may even be times when you want something in the middle.

Microsoft Word 2007

has you covered with lots of options.

Show Notes

- On the Home tab on the Ribbon in

Microsoft Word 2007

look for the icon that looks like lines of text with both an up and down arrow.

- Highlight the text that you want to change the spacing for.

- Now click the arrow next to the icon and select the spacing you want.

- For example, select 2.0 and click and your text is double-spaced.

- Word allows you to have different line spacings in different paragraphs.

- There's also an option to add a space before a paragraph and after a paragraph.

- Word makes it easy to quickly and easily change line spacing.
