The Recycle Bin has been a part of Windows for a long time. It can also sometimes act as a shoebox for files you're not quite ready to part with. Conveniently, for those of you who can't yet commit to "delete," you can actually
change the Recycle Bin's capacity
so that it can store more. Or less, it's totally up to you.Download this episode now

- Right-click on the Recycle Bin and select Properties.
- You'll see each of your hard drives listed.
- You can change the amount of disk space that's assigned to the Recycle Bin for each hard drive.
- The Recycle Bin uses disk space to save things you've deleted in case you want to restore or un-delete them.
- If you wish, you can check a box here so that files are immediately deleted and don't go to the Recycle Bin.
- Choosing this option means you can't restore erased files. You've been warned.
- You can also tell it not to ask you to confirm emptying the Recycle Bin.
