Most Americans tend to use a certain date format while Europeans are used to a different format for dates. It's all very confusing. Android lets you pick which date format you'd like to use.

- On your device tap on Settings.
- Under Settings tap on Date and time.
- Under Date and time tap on Select date format.
- Now you'll see a few different date formats you can pick from.
- For example, December 31, 2009 can be:
12/31/2009

2009/12/31
- Tap the one that's meaningful to you and you're done.
- Under Settings tap on Date and time.
- Under Date and time tap on Select date format.
