Aero Peek replaced the old
Show Desktop
icon that used to be in the Windows taskbar. Now theAero Peek function
is activated by holding your cursor over a section in the lower right corner. Want it to take longer or shorter to activate? It's anotherWindows setting

- If you don't feel comfortable editing the Registry, remember Dr. File Finder's Rule #2 "When in doubt, don't!"
- Click on Start, then in the search box type "regedit" without the quotes.
- The Registry Editor will open.
- You'll want to go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
- Take it step by step and walk your way down. The Registry is in alphabetical order.
- Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Then find and click on Software.
- Find and click on Microsoft and then find and click on Windows.
- Under Windows click on CurrentVersion and then click on Explorer.
- On the right side right-click, select New and click DWORD.
- Give the DWORD a name like DeskHoverTime.
- Right-click on the DWORD you created and select Modify.
- Click the Decimal radio button.
- Now input the value you want. This is in milliseconds.
- The larger the number the longer the pause before Aero Peek will take effect.
- When you're done close the Registry Editor.
- Your change will take effect after you reboot.
