Mac folder icons suffer from the the B's: Blah, Bleh, and Blue. They're not very appealing to the eyes, but we don't have to live with them if we don't want to. It's a simple process to replace the blah icons with some colorful, sexy icons that tell you at a glance what the folder contains.

- You can download some high-quality, Mac icons that are free from InterfaceLIFT.
- To change a folder icon highlight and then right-click and select Get Info.
- Now open your folder of colorful icons, highlight the one you want, right-click and pick Get Info again.
- Now, click on the mini icon at the very top of the Get info screen. You'll notice a tiny movement when you do this.
- Press Command + C.
- Go to the Get info dialog for the icon you want to replace and click in the mini icon spot there.
- Press Command + V and the colorful icon will replace the dull one.
- Close of all the dialogs and you're done.
