If you want to
try Ubuntu
without actually committing part of your hard drive to it, you can do so bycreating a LiveCD or DVD
. These discs act sort of likeboot discs
and allow you to run Ubuntu on your computer without using system resources. We'll show youhow to create a LiveCD

Download Ubuntu 32-bit
Download Ubuntu 64-bit
- You will end up with an .ISO disc image.
- You want to burn this ISO image to a CD or DVD.
- You can use ISO Image Burner or Free Create-Burn ISO.
- Find others by searching butterscotch or Tucows for "Burn ISO."
- Put a blank disc in your drive and burn the image.
- Be sure to label your disc when it's done.
