Your Android phone is not truly your Android phone until you customize it to your tastes. The first place you'll likely start is by switching up the ringtones. Utilizing a free utility called RingDroid you can
create custom ringtones for your Android phone

- In the Android Market search for RingDroid and download it to your Android phone.
- Once installed, just tap on the RingDroid icon.
- The program will load and you'll see a display of music and ringtones.
- Tap on the menu key and the tap on Show All Media.
- Ringtones will appear in a teal color.
- Scroll through and find the song you want to make a ringtone out of and tap on it.
- It will load into RingDroid.
- At the bottom you'll see the start is at 0.00 and the end is at 15.05 seconds.
- You can tap on the tab in the center of the music and make the ringtone longer, or shorter.
- You can also select a portion from the middle of the song if you like. The choice is yours.
- You can tap the Play arrow to hear your creation.
- When you're satisfied you can tap on the menu key and then tap on Save.
- A dialog comes up and if you're happy with the defaults you can just tap Save.
- In the drop down box where it says Ringtone you can tap and reveal other choices, like Notification.
- You can also change the name and RingDroid automatically appends "Ringtone" to the end of the file name.
- Now you'll be asked if you want to make this your default ringtone, assign it to a contact, or just close.
