Windows comes with a set of default system sounds. For the most part they're pretty dull, but you aren't stuck with them. If you have sounds you'd rather use, it's easy to
customize your Windows sounds

- Click Start, then Settings and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel click on Sounds and Audio Devices.
- Now click on the Sounds tab.
- You'll see little speaker icons next to the events that Windows has default sounds for.
- To change a sound simply highlight it.
- Then click the Browse button and navigate to a sound you want.
- Continue to do this until you have all the sounds you want.
- To hear a sound just click the arrow-shaped play button.
- When you're ready click Save As and give your profile a name.
- Click OK and you're done.
- You can have as many sound profiles as you like.
