Sometimes you have folders you use a lot, like your Documents or movie folders. If you like you can put folders into the Dock and at that point they're called a "Stack." Stacks are handy to have and you can have as many as you want. They are a great way of getting quick access to the folders you use on a regular basis.

- Pick a folder you want to turn into a Stack.
- Drag the folder and drop it on your Dock.
- Click on the folder in the Dock to see your Stack.
- You can have the Stack display in a variety of ways including Fan, List, and Grid.
- You can create as many Stacks as you want.
- You can also remove Stacks that you no longer use.
- Right-click on the Stack you want to remove and select Remove From Dock.
- Stacks can contain folders, documents, or programs.

Followed everything you did, but fan is not shown as an option.
Draged my folder (only 11 items in it) into dock made it a folder, then a list and up comes a sub menu with fan on it but that dose not work either.
As a stack there is no fan option only grid or list or automatic.
really anoying.
Also why cant you do an intellagent stack ie just show last 10 items I have recently worked on.
My document stack that came with software vanished shortly after i got snow lepord. so if it is controlled that way then im screwed.
