If you'd like to try Ubuntu, but are afraid you might not like it, there's an easy way to find out. How? Create a

virtual machine

with VMware Workstation. The virtual machine will run right on your physical computer and you can give Ubuntu a try without having to uninstall your favorite OS.

Show Notes

- In a previous tutorial, we already configured our Ubuntu virtual machine. Now it's time to boot it for the first time.

- The

Ubuntu virtual machine

is loading and using VMware Workstation's Easy Install it configures all the basic options for us.

- You can see all the computer components at the bottom of the VMware Workstation screen.

- You can connect things like CDs by right-clicking and picking Connect.

- When Ubuntu has finished loading just log in with the user name and password you used during creation.

- Your

Ubuntu virtual machine

is now ready to use.

- Surf the Internet, download programs, play games, and lots more.
