Hibernate mode was created so it would save the current state of your computer to your hard disk. Then, your computer could turn off and when it started again, it would reload all of the data it had loaded when it started hibernating, good as new. It's almost like waking up from a deep sleep or from... you get the picture. The hibernate feature, however, uses a lot of disk space. Here, we'll show you how to

Show Notes

- Click on Start and then on All Programs.

- Click on Accessories.

- Highlight Command Prompt, right-click and select "Run as administrator."

- At the command prompt, type:

powercfg.exe -h off

- Press Enter. Then, when you're ready to leave, type "exit" and hit Enter to return to Windows.

- After you restart your computer, this change will take effect.
