Your email address book contains every important address, whether electronic or physical. It has the phone, fax and mobile numbers of everyone who's ever handed you a business card at a networking event as well as contact details for your friends and family. We'll run through how to export your contacts from the Outlook Express email client when switching computers, setting up a laptop, sharing contacts between PCs or just to create a backup for safe keeping.

- Click Tools and select Address Book.
- Select the contacts you want to import or use Select All.
- Click File, then Export.
- Select the CSV (Comma-separated values) file format and give it a name. This is the most universal file format and can be imported into other contact managers or email clients.
- Select the checkboxes to ensure that only the contact details you need are exported.
- Click Finish , click OK, and Click Close.
