- There are a number of ways to import contacts into Windows Live Mail.

- If you have a Windows Live ID account, you can import them from there.

- You can also import contacts from a variety of file formats.

- These include Windows Address Book (WAB), VCF business card files, Office Outlook address book, and Comma Separated Values or CSV files.

- Pick your file type. In this case we used CSV.

- Now you have to find and select the file you want to import.

- Next, you'll see the mapping dialog.

- This is designed to help you to align the fields from one file format with anther file format.

- This is necessary because email programs have different formats and contain different information.

- Get the fields to match, like First Name to First Name.

- You can also elect not to import some fields.

- Once you're satisfied, click Finish.

- Your contacts will be imported using the criteria you laid out.
