How to import templates into Google Docs

Save the hassle associated with creating your own spreadsheets in Google Docs. There's a good chance someone has already created a template for the spreadsheet you need. In this tutorial, we look at importing and using a family budget using a free Google Docs template.

- Sign in to your Google Docs account. If you have a Gmail or other Google account, use the same login for Google Docs. If you don't have a Google ID you can sign up for one on the Google Docs page.

- From the Google Docs menu, click on the New tab and choose From Template.

- This will open a listing page of free templates.

- Browse through the template options or search for a specific template like a family budget.

- The Use This Template button will automatically open the template in your Google Docs account.
