Once you've got your

Blu-ray drive set up

, you'll need to

install software

that will let you use the various functions of your Blu-ray drive. While you will generally get software with your Blu-ray package, we used

Cyberlink Media Suite 9

because it had the most features for the dollar. Other software that will work includes

PowerDVD 10 and Power2Go 7

- When you install a Blu-ray drive into your computer, you'll need to install appropriate software before you're able to do things like burn Blu-ray discs or watch movies.

- When you get your drive, you'll generally gets software discs in the package to install some of the software that you need.

- We chose instead to install Cyberlink Media Suite 9 because it has everything that you need to play Blu-ray movies, burn data discs and more.

- Other software includes PowerDVD 10, which allows for video playback, and Power2Go 7, which allows you to burn Blu-ray discs.

- Whatever software you choose, start the installation process and follow the steps to install.

- If you're planning on burning Blu-ray discs, you'll also need to get some blank Blu-ray discs. Single-layer discs are about 25 GB while dual-layer discs are about 50 GB. These can be purchased in singles or in packs.
