How to install TextExpander

Working with TextExpander

Unlike most applications for the Mac,

TextExpander

doesn't install into the Applications folder. Instead, it installs into the

Mac System Preferences pane

. Before using it you have to toggle a feature in

Universal Access

and then you'll be ready to go.

- Download TextExpander

- Once the file is downloaded double-click on the file to start the install.

TextExpander

will install into the System Preferences pane.

- Open System Preferences either from the Dock icon or by clicking on the Apple menu and selecting System Preferences.

- You'll see the entry for

TextExpander

. Before diving in though, click on Universal Access.

- In Universal Access you must go down and make sure the checkbox for "Enable access for assistive devices" is checked.

- You can then go back and open TextExpander and be ready to go.
