How to manage the volume in Ubuntu

- In Ubuntu click on System then on Preferences, and then on
Volume Control
.
- In Volume Control you can click on the drop-down menu to pick the device you want to configure.
- You can set an individual volume
for CD, PCM, Line-In, and so on.
- At the same time you can set a Master Volume
that covers all of them.
- At the base of a volume slider you'll notice two links of chain connected.
- This link means the two sliders move together.
- If you click in the center of the link it will divide and you can adjust each side by itself.
- You can click on Sound Theme to set a sound theme.
- Under Preferences you can define what items appear on the main list.
- You can add or remove items in this way.
