Many users believe that they must
modify Windows Firewall
in order touse torrent clients
like uTorrent. In actual fact, this is rarely the case and uTorrent will generally be allowed through the firewall. If it is not, we'll show youhow to allow access to uTorrent

- If you've installed uTorrent, open up your Windows Control Panel.
- Click on Start and then on Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, click on System and Security.
- Now click on Firewall.
- If you click on the section that will allow you to add exceptions, you'll see that uTorrent has been added automatically.
- This is true for Window 7, Vista and XP.
- Some other firewall clients may require you to go in and allow the torrent client's port.
- For the most part, no change is needed to the firewall to do torrent transfers.
- In some cases, you may need to turn on Port Forwarding in your router, which we discussed in the previous segment.
