Show Notes

- In part 1 we started eliminating the clutter on your desktop.

- Put like files together and then create folders to store them in.

- Leave the icons of the program you use most on the desktop, but put all the others in folders.

- Right-click on the desktop and select Arrange Icons By and select Align to Grid and then go back and also select Auto Arrange.

- This will snap all your remaining icons over to the left side of the desktop.

- Another way to keep your desktop organized is to set policies for yourself.

- For example, if you download files to your desktop agree to install them immediately and then delete the downloaded file.

- Or download files to the desktop and then move them to a downloads folder until you can install them. After installation delete the file.

- Remember that what you want on your desktop are the things you need most and all the time.

- All the rest can be put away in folders for the few times that you need to use them.

- Follow-up on your organization and keep at it. Remove what you don't need and keep what you need close.
