Most mobile devices today, especially smartphones, have a way to lock them. Generally this is done with a four-digit pass code. How do you secure your device by

Things you should NOT use:

- 0515 - Birthday month and day
- 1922 - Your birth year
- 0719 - Children's birthday
- 1224 - Other child's birthday
- 8010 - First 4 digits of your Zip Code
- 3581 - Digits from your street address
- Anything that people who know you could easily guess!

You can't keep people out of your mobile device if you use a pass code made up of numbers that they can guess!

Things you should CONSIDER using:

Random dates that mean something to you, like:

- 0918 - Date you met your wife
- 0612 - Date you graduated from high school
- 0412 - Your maternal grandmother's birthday

Random dates from history, like:

- 1812 - As in the War of
- 1510 - Defeat of the Spanish Armada
- 1901 - First Nobel prizes awarded

Other ideas for possible pass codes:

- Year you stopped going out on Halloween
- Year you first went to the dentist
- Year you got your first kiss
- Your grade point average in high school
- And other things that are outside the box!
