The taskbar has received a number of improvements in Windows 7 RC1. One old standard that's missing, however, is the QuickLaunch toolbar. Not to worry. You now have the ability to "pin" icons to the taskbar. This gives you the ability to create your own quick launch section on the taskbar.

- In Windows 7 RC1 you'll note that the QuickLaunch toolbar is no longer available.
- If you have programs you want to stay in the taskbar it's easy to do.
- Right-click on the program icon in the taskbar and select Pin this program to the taskbar.
- That program will now stay in the taskbar even when it's closed.
- You'll be able to launch pinned programs right from the taskbar.
- Should you want to remove a pinned program just right-click and select Unpin this program from the taskbar.
