. Sometimes a device starts behaving strangely and one thing you can try to fix it is to

rollback its device driver

Show Notes

- In Windows Vista click on Start then on Control Panel.

- In Control Panel click on

Device Manager

and in Vista click Continue.

- The

Device Manager

shows all of the devices connected to your computer.

- In Windows XP right-click on My Computer and select Properties.

- In the dialog that opens click the Device tab.

- In XP and Visa select a device you want to rollback, like the DVD player.

- Click on the device and highlight it.

- Right-click and select Properties.

- Click on the Driver tab.

- If you have

updated drivers

you'll have the Rollback option available.

- If not Windows will tell you there's no backup and ask if you want to run the troubleshooter.

- If a backup driver exists Windows will roll it back to the previous version.
