Many Android phones have Secure Digital (SD) cards and so offer expandable storage. That's great and a real boon for people who want to be able to switch cards in and out, but there's a correct way to remove these cards so they aren't damaged. Michael "Doctor File Finder" Callahan shows how.

- On your phone, tap on Settings.
- Under Settings, tap on SD card & phone storage.
- Now tap on Unmount SD card.
- When you do, this option will be grayed out because the card will be unmounted.
- Proceed with removing the card which is often located under the battery.
- This is the correct way to remove the Secure Digital card from your device so it isn't damaged.
