- You can download Belvedere here for free.
- When you open Belvedere, the first thing you do is select a folder that you want to make a rule for. We picked the downloads folder.
- Give your rules names that mean something to you.
- Determine if all criteria have to be met or just any.
- Now define what happens and to what.
- For example, we said that any ZIP file on the desktop should be moved to a folder called ZIPs.
- When you have your rule done, click Test to see what files it will impact.
- This is a great way to see if your rule does what you want it to before putting it into effect.
- Click on the Recycle Bin tab you and you can let Belvedere take control of your Recycle Bin.
- Be sure to save your preferences when you're done.
- Keep in mind that each rule can be enabled or disabled individually.
- That means that you can have some rules running all the time and others only when you need them.
- Belvedere was inspired by a similar application for the Mac called Hazel. If you're a Mac user, Hazel is a great program to use for these same features.
