send text messages from your Gmail inbox

- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Make sure Chat is enabled.
- In the Chat search you can begin typing the name of one of your existing contacts.
- Select the one you want and an SMS text message window comes up.
- You can type your text messages here and not have to worry about using the phone.
- You can also simply enter the number of someone who isn't a contact and text message them too.
- This makes it easy to send SMS text messages right from Gmail and using your computer keyboard.
