If you don't want to manually select the program that you use to send text messages from your

every time you want to text then you can set a default. This is handy if you know you always want to use the same program to

send text messages

- If you open Contacts and press your finger on a contact, you'll get a menu.

- In the menu, you can tap Text contact.

- If you have more than one program that can do texting, you'll get a list.

- You can pick any program from the list. You don't have to set a default unless you want to.

- If you've created texting shortcuts, you'll get the same list of texting applications.

- To set a default text application, just tap the box at the bottom of the list for setting a default.

- Now, the program you select from the list will become your default.

- Now when you tap a texting shortcut or try to text from your Contacts, the texting application will open automatically.

- You can always change the default application and that's shown in another tutorial.
