How to setup an account in Windows Live Mail

Windows Live Mail

is the

free email client

that replaced Outlook Express for

Windows 7

. It's part of the

Windows Live Essentials

package and it's easy to install. We'll show you

how to set up Windows Live Mail

in this tutorial. Windows Live Mail is a part of the Windows Live Essentials package. It replaced Outlook Express as the free email client in Windows. Once you've installed it, you'll want to setup your email and here's how.

- Open Windows Live Mail either from the Start menu or by typing Windows Live Mail in the search box.

- The very first time you open it the Add new email account dialog will automatically come up.

- You'll need to enter certain key information that you can get from your ISP.

- This includes incoming mail server, outgoing mail server, ports used by each, if they require authentication and so on.

- Enter all of the information requested.

- When you're done, it will tell you if your account was setup correctly.

- The most common errors are in putting in the server names and whether it needs SSL or not.
