How to subscribe to a news feed with Google Reader

Google Reader is great for keeping track of all your favorite sites in one place. Rather than visiting all of the sites you like to read with your morning coffee individually, Google Reader and other similar RSS (real simple syndication) readers act as an aggregate catch all for the day's news. It functions a lot like your email inbox.

Show Notes

- On a site you want to subscribe to, click on the orange feed icon in the address bar.

- Firefox will show you the site's feed. Click on "Always use Google to subscribe to feeds button if you want to skip this page in the future, then click on Subscribe Now.

- On the next page, click on Add to Google Reader; Google Reader will load and show you the most recent feed items.

- Click on Add to Folder to organize the feed; to create a new folder, click on New folder.

Google Reader has lots of features and options, but that's the basics of how to subscribe to an online news feed.
