Drivers tell your operating system how to interact with and address hardware like printers, scanners, DVD drives, video cards and, well, just about everything. - Click on Start and then on Control Panel.

- In Control Panel double-click on Device Manager.

- In Device Manager you'll see a list of all the components on your computer.

- Click on the device, like a CD-ROM, where you want to update the driver.

- Highlight the name of the device.

- Right-click and select Update Driver Software.

- Now you'll be prompted to either Search your computer and the Internet, or to look on your computer. The first option is the best.

- Windows will now look to see if there is a newer driver for your device.

- If there is it will install it and if not it will tell you so.
