Windows Vista has its share of problems. One of the biggest annoyances for users turned out to be the

User Account Control (UAC)

which harassed users with permission dialog boxes every time they tried to make a system change. Microsoft shows it's been listening and in Windows 7 RC1 you can

change the UAC settings

for the way you work.

Show Notes

- In Windows 7 click Start and then Control Panel.

- In Control Panel click on System and Security.

- In System and Security click on Action Center.

- On the left-hand side click on

Change User Account Control settings

.

- By default you are notified by

UAC

when a program tries to make changes to your computer.

- You can increase this to be notified when any changes are made.

- You can go down a level and change it so you are notified of the change, but your screen doesn't dim.

- You can turn off notifications which isn't recommended.
