- In Ubuntu click on System, then Administration and then on

System Monitor

.

- In System Monitor the System tab gives you a summary of your installation including

the version of Ubuntu that you're running

, a summary of hardware and memory.

- On the Processes tab you can see all of the

processes currently running within Ubuntu

.

How to kill a system process in Ubuntu

: If you highlight a process and right-click on it you have options to kill it, change the priority, and so on.

- On the Resources tab you see a CPU history in graph form.

- You can also see a history of memory and swap (virtual) memory.

- There's also a history of network activity.

- On the File Systems tab you get a summary of your disk space.

- The

System Monitor

gives you a quick, concise overview of what's going on with your system.
