The iPhone 3GS now has "

Voice Control

" that lets you

control iPhone functions with your voice

. You can dial numbers, call contacts, play songs or playlists, and more, all with your voice.

Show Notes

- To

activate Voice Control

hold down the Home button.

- Voice Control comes up and you can issue a command, like "Help."

- Voice Command helps you by summarizing what you can ask for.

- If you say "Play Bachman-Turner Overdrive" it will repeat it and immediately begin to play a song by that group.

- You can tell Voice Command to "pause".

- You can have it dial a number by saying "Call 111-222-3456"

- You can have it call a contact by saying something like "Call Kathy Smith."

- You can also ask Voice Control to identify the song that is playing.
