Inputting info into TaxACT

When you begin with TaxACT, the software will start out by asking for some basic information. This is where you'll enter things like name, date of birth and so on. You'll also enter information about dependents, estimated payments and the like.

Start TaxACT and click on the Basic Info tab

.

- Here is where you'll enter your information like name, date of birth, social security number and other tax time identifiers.

- Keep in mind that the screens you see will depend on your responses to the various questions.

- For example, if under Dependents you select No it will take you to the Filing Status page.

- If you respond Yes, however, it takes you to a screen where you can fill in information on dependents.

- You can move forward and backward by clicking the blue arrows on the right.

- You can also move around by clicking the links at the top of the page.

- Move through and respond to the various questions.

- If you paid estimated payments, you'll have to enter that information; if not then you won't.

- Confirm that your basic information is correct.

- You will automatically arrive at the next tab, which is Life Events.
