- Without a CD or DVD drive, you can't use discs to install programs.

- You can, however, get programs online from sites like Tucows.com and Apple is coming out with an App store soon.

- Installing programs from a USB is also an option, as is getting an external optical drive.

- Remote Disc is another option that allows you to put a disc into another computer on your network and install from there.

- To use Remote Disc, you'll have to ask for permission through the MacBook Air and allow it through your other computer.
