- First make sure that you are running Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.

- Be sure to uninstall any other anti-virus programs that are currently installed. Running multiple anti-virus programs simultaneously can cause conflicts.

- Now, if you haven't already done so, download the executable file and double-click it.

- If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will see a user account control window alert. Click Yes to proceed.

- You will see a welcome screen. Click Next and you will see the License Agreement. You must select agree in order to proceed with the installation.

- You will now be able to select the destination folder for the installation. Ensure you have enough space to complete the installation, then proceed.

- You will next be given the option to create desktop and quick launch icons. There is also an option to automatically install updates, which we recommend checking.

- If there are any problems, running the installation in Safe Mode will remove any snags. You can get to safe mode in startup by pressing the F8 key.

- After the program is installed you can choose to run Smart Update in order to get the latest malware definitions installed on your system.

- Once the installation is finished restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
