show notes

Part 1

- Double-tap the menu button to start

multitasking with your iPhone

.

- Scroll through bar at bottom to view all of your active apps.

- Tap and hold on an app in that list to get an option to close the app and remove it from memory.

- This will only close the active program; it won't remove the application from your list.

- From the first screen, you may also scroll over to the left to reveal player controls and orientation lock.

Part 2

-

Creating folders on your iPhone

allows you to increase the number of apps available on your phone to 2160!

- To create your first folder, tap and hold on one of the apps you want to put into folder.

- Now drag it onto another app you want to put in same folder and a folder will be created with both of those apps inside.

- The folder will have a default name, which you may change if you like.

- Press the menu button to exit folder setup.

- To open a folder, just tap on it and then you can tap on the app you want.

- To remove an item from a folder, just tap and hold on the app for a second, then drag it out of the folder bar.

- The folder will only disappear after you remove the last app from it.

Part 3

- In the past, you could have multiple email addresses but could only manage them individually.

- The new interface adds an "All Inboxes" option, which allows you to see emails from all of your accounts at once.

- If you want to reply to any of these messages, you will reply from the address the email was sent to by default.

- You can change which address you're sending from while replying by tapping the "From" field and selecting your desired address.

Part 4

- To use digital zoom, first open up the camera.

- Tap the screen in order to focus on a particular subject.

- There's now a slider on the side of the screen which allows you to zoom in and out.

- This does not cause the fixed lens to zoom in (optic zoom) but instead digitally zooms in using software.

- This will cause a decrease in image quality.

- The quality will be better on the new iPhone 4 than on the older models.

Part 5

- You can change your search engine in Safari. Search engines available include Google, Yahoo and Bing.

- Just click Preferences, choose Safari and you'll see the switch search engine option.

- You can also change the wallpaper for your home screen or lock screen.

- When selecting your wallpaper, you can not choose to set lock screen, home screen or both.

- Spell check now includes underline and substitution AFTER the fact, rather than just autocorrecting as you type.
