The iPhone 3G is the hottest phone there is. In this episode, Andy Walker, Executive Producer of Butterscotch kicks off the iPhone Basics series with an introduction to the iPhone 3G. He gives you a basic overview of the buttons, switches, screen and slots that make up the iconic phone.

Show Notes

- The large touchscreen is how you'll interact with the iPhone 3G.

- The menu button below the screen returns you to the home screen (pictured) at any time.

- On the left side of the iPhone is the volume rocker button to control the volume in any application or for the overall system volume.

- Above the volume rocker button is a mute switch. Perfect for when you're in meetings or don't want your phone to ring or make any noise.

- On the top side of the device is the headset jack.

- On the bottom side of the device is the charging / docking interface used to charge or connect your iPhone to the computer via the included USB cable.

- To either side of the charging connection are the speaker and microphone.

- On the top side of the device is the SIM card slot. This is where you'll insert your SIM card, provided by your service provider.

- On the back of the device is the 2MP camera.
