Learning even a few keyboard shortcuts makes every day computing tasks faster and easier. Both Windows and Mac offer a wide range of keyboard shortcuts. Here, we'll show you some of the Windows shortcuts and their Mac equivalents along with some Mac-only shortcuts.

- The primary keys used for keyboard shortcuts in Windows are the Ctrl and the Alt keys.

- On the Mac, the Cmnd and Option (Alt) key along with the Control key look after the majority of keyboard shortcuts.

Windows:
Ctrl + N = New ... i.e. new window, new document, new folder etc.
Mac:
Cmnd + N = New ... i.e. new window, new document, new folder etc.

Windows:
Ctrl + C = Copy ... i.e copy selected text, copy a file or folder etc.
Mac:
Cmnd + C = Copy ... i.e copy selected text, copy a file or folder etc.

Windows:
Ctrl + V = Paste ... i.e. paste copied text, paste copied file or folder etc.
Mac:
Cmnd + V = Paste ... i.e. paste copied text, paste copied file or folder etc.

Windows:
Ctrl + Z = Undo ... i.e. undo pasted text, undo cut text etc.
Mac:
Cmnd + Z = Undo ... i.e. undo pasted text, undo cut text etc.

Windows:
Ctrl + A = Select all ... i.e. select all elements in a document, web page or select an entire photo in a photo editor.
Mac:
Cmnd + A = Select all ... i.e. select all elements in a document, web page or select an entire photo in a photo editor.

Windows:
Alt + Tab = Cycle through opened programs, folders and windows.
Mac:
Cmnd + Tab = Cycle through opened programs, folders and windows.
