Entering a username and password every time you
start Windows XP
can seem like a waste of time, especially if you're the only one who uses your computer. We'll show youhow to disable the Windows XP login screen
so you'llgo straight to your Windows desktop upon starting your computer

- Select Run from the Start menu.
- Type "control userpasswords2" and click the OK button.
- With the User Accounts window open, click on the Users tab.
- Clear the box that reads "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer." and click Apply.
- A window will appear asking you to enter the name and password for the account you want to automatically log into.
- Once you've entered that information, click OK to close out of that window, and again, click OK to close out of the User Accounts window.
