Once you understand

how to use FTP

, it won't be long before you have several

FTP sites

that you regularly connect to. FileZilla makes it easy to

manage multiple FTP logins

with its easy to use

Site Manager

interface.

Show Notes

- Open FileZilla.

- Click on the

Site Manager

which is the icon on the far left side.

- You can also open

Site Manager

by clicking File and then Site Manager.

- Click on New Site and then type in the name of your host.

- The default port is 21 and the default protocol is FTP. Unless the

FTP login

information you have been provided specifies different settings than these, leave them as they are.

- Select your logon type and type in user name and password.

- If you wish you can include comments.

- On the Advanced tab you can add a default local and remote directory.

- On the Transfer settings tab you'll most often use Passive mode.

- In most cases you won't use the Charset tab.

- You can use the Site Manager in FileZilla to manage all manner of connections.
