How to use Skype

Skype has many more features other than just being used to

make calls online for free

. You can also

use Skype to make a video call, send instant messages or files

, or even share screens. We'll walk you through it in this tutorial.

- Simply select the person who you wish to call from your contacts list and then click on call. Easy right?

- You can use the options in the drop down menu to put the call on hold or to edit the sound and video settings. To end the call, simply click on the red phone icon.

- You'll see the duration of the phone call and when it ended.

- You can also

use Skype to chat via instant messaging

by selecting your desired contact and then typing your messages. You can use emoticons and also some other extras like playing games and sending a fax.

- If you want to send a file you can do so by either dragging the file right on top of an online contact's name or you can right click on a contact and choose Share a File.

- You can

use Skype to share your screen as well

. Just select what part of the screen you wish to share and then Skype will call the person and you can share on-screen content.

- Ready for a video call? Just click on a contact's name and select Video Call.
