how to create your own iPhone ringtone

Using the voice memos application

you can

record your voice

or

record a song to use as a ringtone

, then email the memo to yourself and change the file extension before loading it into iTunes. It's a great way to

get custom ringtones on your iPhone

quickly and easily.

Show Notes

- To start, go to Voice Memos.

- From here, you can make a recording or tap the button right of the VU meter to see your old memos.

- Once you see the recording, you want to use tap the arrow on the right for more options.

- From here, you can either trim your memo or, if you're sure it's how you want it, email it to yourself.

- After emailing your voice memo go to your computer and rename that files extension to .m4r.

- Now, drag this file into iTunes on top of your Library. You'll see a Ringtones icon appear.

- You can now plug in your iPhone and sync your ringtones with your phone.

- From the Ringtones menu, you should now be able to select your custom ringtone.
