How to use MyHeritage.com to make a family tree

Thursday July 15, 2010
As with any other social networking site, you'll want to

manage your privacy settings

when

using MyHeritage.com

. You can change your privacy settings so that only members of your family tree have

permission to view photos

, information, or your family tree itself. Of course, it would be best if you

allow family members certain privileges

so they can help build the tree.

Show Notes

- To make sure that your family's information is safe, make sure you update your settings.

- Click on Settings and then Privacy.

- The first section allows you to choose who can see your family tree website.

- You can check an option to have it public so anyone can see it, private so that only members of your family can see it or mixed so that some parts are for members only and some parts can be viewed by guests.

- Now choose the privacy settings for your members. You can make it so that members can edit the family tree, or not, and so that they can post content, or not.

- If you want help in constructing your tree then we suggest allowing your members to be able to participate as much as possible.
