You can use
Google Maps
toplot routes
that you take when you arewalking, running or cycling
. These routes can be saved for later use and you can plot severaljogging routes
so that you can have variety in your runs.Download this episode now

- Google Maps makes it easy to track your walks, runs or bike rides.
- Click on My Maps and create a new map.
- You can add a title and description, and choose to make it public or keep it private. Click Save.
- Type an address or zoom in to your starting point.
- Now, click the lines tool and trace the route that you normally take.
- When you're done, just double-click to finalize and confirm your title and description.
- You can now view that route from Google Maps whenever you want.
- Click on My Maps and create a new map.

I've definitely never thought to use Google Maps this way, but it's a great idea. I've been working on how to improve cardiovascular fitness, and running seems like a great way. Does Google Maps let you customize your route length? Or do you just kind of have to guess to see how long it is, and then adjust from there as necessary?
