Now that we've figured out how to lay down a beat, it's time to experiment with some of the various

sounds and modules

that are available in

FL Studio

to create our own style. There's a world of possibilities just with the pre-loaded sounds and modules in FL Studio and experimentation is the key to finding just the right sound.

- Add a new channel to your pattern by right-clicking in the pattern generator, selecting Insert and then choosing your sound.

- Use the keyboard editor to make individual notes higher or lower to create a melody.

- Double-click on a layer to open the channel settings module.

- In the channel settings module, the interface will depend on which sound is selected. Experiment with the different modes and knobs to get the sound you're looking for.
