With hundreds or even thousands of listings being posted every day to your local craislist portal, it's easy to feel information overload. However, with these simple tips, you can narrow down your search to find exactly what you're looking for on craigslist. In this example, we'll be looking for an apartment on craigslist but the search tips apply to searching other categories on the site too.

- Click on apts/housing under the housing options on craigslist.
- Tabs across the top of the page allow you narrow your search to different areas in your region.
- Enter in a minimum and maximum rental rate.
- Select the number of bedrooms you're looking for.
- Select a specific neighborhood from the drop-down menu if desired.
- Check the appropriate boxes to see listings that allow dogs, cats or both or that have at least one image to look at.
- Enter any specific search terms into the search box.
- Click on Search.
- You can change the search type by choosing a different category from the in: drop-down menu.
