Your
Wii dashboard
is where you access most of your Wii's functions. It comes with aweather channel
, anews channel
and more, and allows you to surf the Internet with an Internet connection. We'll show you how touse your Wii dashboard
in this episode, including how tochange your Wii settings

Show Notes
- Your dashboard doesn't start with a lot of icons on it but you can add more.
- You'll see the game disc icon, the Mii channel, the News channel and more.
- At the bottom, you'll see the time and the date.
- There is a button for the Wii Message Board at the bottom-right. This takes you to an interface where you can check your mail or daily game stats.
- If you click the Create Message button at the bottom, you will be at a menu where you can create a menu, send a message or access the address book.
- By clicking on the Address Book icon, you'll get to a screen where you can see your Wii console number, which allows other Wii users to find you and vice versa.
- If you click on the calendar icon at the bottom-left, you can see a calendar of what days you've played and which you've received mail on.
- Clicking the SD card icon will bring you to the SD card management window where you can access and back up data. Clicking the question mark at the bottom-right will give you more information.
- By clicking on Wii Options from the main page, you can go to the Data Management menu. Here you can access the Channels menu where you can delete channels, move them to your SD card and so on.
- If you click Save Data from Data Management, you can access your Wii or GameCube save files.
- From the Wii Options you can access Wii Settings. Some of these we've detailed already but there are more that you should be aware of.
- When you're on the Wii dashboard, you can move channels back and forth and from page to page.
- Hold the channel by pressing A and B at the same time and you'll be able to drag the channel from spot to spot or page to page.
