- Some Web pages won't display properly with Internet Explorer 8. For this reason, there's Compatibility View mode that you can use.

- When you arrive on a page that needs Compatibility View you'll see an icon next to the Refresh button near the Address bar.

- Just click on this to enable Compatibility View for that site.

- You can click Tools and then Compatibility View Settings to add sites to Compatibility View. This way, added sites will automatically load in Compatibility View.

- Tabbed browsing is now much smarter. If you're on a Web page and right-click a link on that page and select Open in new tab, both parent and child tabs will be color coded. This tells you at a glance which tabs were opened from which other tabs.

- You can right-click on any tab and close that tab, close that group of tabs, ungroup that tab and so on.

- The Find On Page function, accessed by pressing CTRL+F, is also greatly improved.

- As you type your search word that word is highlighted in the Web page.

- Scroll down and you'll find instances of your search word highlighted in yellow.
