UPDATE: Facebook has begun rolling out new and simplified privacy settings for some users. Many of the tips in this series still directly apply however.

- When publishing to your Facebook news feed, you have control of who sees what.

- Click on the lock-shaped icon to see your options.

- You can share it with everyone, friends, friends of friends or custom.

- The custom option allows you to add select users and groups, or even to hide your news feed from select users and groups.

- You can also change your selection to the default.
