Show Notes

- Regular extension cords offer little or no protection for your computer and its peripherals.

- What you want is a power bar that can maintain regularity of power. These are commonly called surge protectors.

- Surge protectors sense spikes in electricity and help prevent your system being damaged during power failures.

- One such device is the Monster Digital Power MDP-900, which offers green solutions as well as multiple power ports and ports for your network and phone lines.

- If you need battery backup as well as surge protection, then you'll want to find an uninterruptable power supply (UPS).

- The APC Back-UPS ES 750 provides many of the options of the Monster surge protector but also offers a limited battery backup for your devices.
